Hello and welcome to my page in the party! Here is a little bit about me.
I grew up on a staple diet of books, books and more books. And although I’ve gotten older, I never stopped loving children’s and young adult novels.
I’ve always wanted to write one myself, but it took three careers and three different continents before I actually managed it.
I now feel incredibly fortunate to spend my time writing from my home in Adelaide, Australia where I keep an eye out for koalas in my backyard. My staple diet hasn’t changed much, although I’ve added choc mint Rooibos tea and Chicken Crimpies to the list.
My Four Kingdoms, Beyond the Four Kingdoms, and Return to the Four Kingdoms series are made up of linked stand-alone fairy tale retellings and I’ve recently begun a new fairy tale world, Kingdoms of Legacy.
Guess the Fairy Tale
I have written many fairy tales so I’ve decided to do a fairy tale guessing game. There are ten clues below. Your task is to guess which fairy tale the clue is describing and respond with your answer in the comment section. Feel free to take your time and see how many fairy tales you can correctly identify. Test your knowledge and enjoy the challenge!
Clue 1: “I was turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer and spent years searching for my brothers to break the curse.”
Clue 2: “I was locked in a tower by my evil stepmother, and only my golden hair could be used to let people in.”
Clue 3: “I made a deal with a witch to give up my voice in exchange for legs, and I danced on sharp knives at every ball.”
Clue 4: “An evil queen tried to poison me with an apple, but a prince saved me with a kiss.”
Clue 5: “I escaped the clutches of a giant by tricking him with a small harp and a bag of beans.”
Clue 6: “My father’s kingdom was cursed, and I was forced to live in a castle with a terrible beast until I saw the truth within him.”
Clue 7: “I was turned into a nightingale by an evil sorcerer, and my true love had to defeat the sorcerer to free me.”
Clue 8: “I was blessed with the ability to talk to animals, but I was forced to live with my wicked stepsisters who kept me hidden from the world.”
Clue 9: “I spent years inside a glass coffin and was awakened by a kiss, not from a prince, but from a knight who wandered the land.”
Clue 10: “My only companion was a wolf who helped me defeat my evil stepmother, but in the end, I was betrayed and turned into a bird.”
To Ride the Wind
I am offering the first book in my Four Kingdoms Duology for free until March 2! If you enjoy clean romance, adventure, intrigue, found families, and friendship, then try the Four Kingdoms duology now which retells one classic fairy tale across two books!
Due to a technical issue, I was not able to set To Ride the Wind for free starting on the 26th. I am sorry for the delay, but it will be available for free starting on the 27th. Please check back then to claim it!
Charlotte has always longed to be accepted by her older sisters. She would gladly exchange her vaunted beauty for their friendship. But they ask a far higher price. Pushed into marriage with a stranger, Charlotte is left betrayed and alone. All she knows of her new husband is that he has secrets—and that her heart beats a little faster whenever he calls her Lottie.
Princess Gwendolyn’s people are different—that’s why they dwell high in the mountains, far from all other kingdoms. So she’s shocked when she discovers her mother plans to marry her by force to a stranger from outside their lands. And when she uncovers the full truth, she knows the queen’s scheming has gone too far. Gwen must intervene before her mother’s destructive touch blights the entire world. If only there was someone who could help her. But the boy who was Gwen’s only true friend has long since disappeared, and she’d do anything to find him. But her mother has made that impossible.
In this reimagining of the classic fairy tale, East of the Sun and West of the Moon, a commoner and a princess must forge a friendship in order to find a path through the secrets and lies that surround them.
Find your Legacy
In my new fairy tale series, Kingdoms of Legacy, each kingdom is influenced by a fairy tale. For example, in Glandore, the kingdom influenced by Beauty and the Beast, the only flower that will grow are roses. I have six books planned so far, using the following tales. Pick your favorite and see what Legacy affects your life! (Note: these are silly effects and not ones that will actually appear in my books)
Bonus Chapters
This is technically not a book, but I have an entire page on my website dedicated to bonus chapters! These snippets are mainly from the male character’s POV, but you’ll also find ones from friends and the female leads as well.
Godmother Objects
In the Four Kingdoms, the Godmothers bestow powerful objects to worthy individuals. What magical item would you like to be gifted?
Thank you so much for visiting my page and playing the games! I hope you’ve enjoyed the event and had fun testing your fairytale knowledge. 5. Jack and the Beanstalk
6. Beauty and the Beast
7. The Nightingale

Beauty and The Beast and I’m stuck between the locket and the dragon.
Most of these are pretty straight forward, but I wanted to tackle a more obscure one:
is #7 The Blue Bird?
I’d pick Sleeping Beauty – I’ll never say no to a nap!
And if I take the Cloak, it won’t matter if I sleep in!
Thanks for the fun, Melanie!

8. Cinderella
9. The Girl in the Glass Coffin (again, not sure if it’s a real fairytale name – or maybe it’s a version of Sleeping Beauty)
10. No idea
I would choose the Sleeping Beauty fairytale, so I would get a mattress that was enchanted to be *too* comfy, making my naps last longer than I expected. Sounds true to life! 🤣
And lastly I would ask for a Pocket-sized dragon 😊
